![]() |
NIE has recently developed a comprehensive test and repair procedure for ELB / Baumuller EUS21 servo drives. Although the repair of these units posed few technical problems, performing a full test has always proven to be difficult. Now thanks to the endeavours of our technical engineers, NIE is able to perform a full functional and load test on these units. |

| NIE Install The First Versomat In the UK | |
![]() |
NIE is pleased to announce the installation of the first Benninger Versomat in the UK. The Versomat is the next generation short run sectional warping machine featuring cutting edge automation and touch screen technology. For the installation NIE arranged for foundations to be prepared and rails put in place. NIE Technicians then erected, installed and commissioned the 8000 Kilo machine. Once the machine had been commissioned, NIE delivered a training course to the machine operators. The Versomat is one of many new machines scheduled to be installed by NIE in 2008 and reflects the demand for our bolt-on onsite service which we provide to leading machine manufacturers and sales agencies. Increasingly we are being asked to provide onsite breakdown and installation support to machinery manufacturers and sales agencies. In many cases machinery manufacturers use our engineers as an overflow resource when they’re extremely busy. This saves them carrying unnecessary human resource when demand is reduced. The service is also extremely popular with machinery sales and marketing agencies who cannot justify the expense of having their own internal service division. |

| Lager Flowing Thanks to NIE | |
![]() |
When you are producing over 500,000 bottles of lager per day, even the smallest amount of downtime is going to be a costly affair. Now imagine your shock when you discover that a faulty Mitsubishi inverter has stopped production. This was the problem facing of one the UK’s leading breweries. Thankfully the solution for the brewery was simple - a quick phone call to NIE. Within an hour, the unit had been collected and delivered to our repair centre. Obviously, minimizing downtime was our priority and we began the process of fault detection immediately. The problem soon became apparent. Through the passage of time, capacitors had leaked onto the main control board, blowing several components in the process. Thankfully, we had all the necessary components in stock to fully service the unit. After performing a full test and service check the unit was returned to the customer on the same day. In light of this story, we recommend customers send NIE their inverters for a service check when they are conducting planned downtime. |

| Merry Xmas / Winterval | |
![]() |
Christmas (or Winterval as it is known in the midlands) is upon us again and it doesn’t seem long since the last one. Well, what a year it has been for NIE. It has been one of our most successful and interesting years in our 28-year history. So a big thank you to all our customers and hats off to our engineers who have put a lot of hard work in to ensure our high repair quality standards are maintained. 2008 brings new challenges, new faces and a new website, which will have some extremely useful features for existing customers. All we have to do now is survive the Christmas excess of mince pies and alcohol…. Oh, and of course the girlfriends credit card spending spree. Roll on January. We will be closed from Friday the 21st of December to 2nd of January. The last 2nd class postal date is the 17th of December. |
